Do We Use Your Passwords?
No, Book Report does not use your passwords. Book Report will never ask for your password—nor does it collect, store, or transmit it in any way. We rely solely on cookies and a browser extension (or bookmarklet) to access the reporting interfaces of your publishing accounts.
We don’t want your password for two primary reasons:
- Security: Holding or handling a user’s password is a huge liability. By design, Book Report avoids storing anything that could grant full access to your account.
- Better Alternative: Our browser extension safely uses session cookies you’ve already authorized by logging in to your distributor’s site. This method ensures Book Report never even sees your credentials.
Book Report uses Login with Amazon for authentication, but that does not give us access to your password.
